Welcome! my name is Amanda Hernandez and I was born in one of the most spectacular countries of the caribbean, Venezuela. Modest apart, the country with more Miss Universe crowns won ever!
I have an undergrad in Mass Communications and I'm currently pursuing an Entertainment Business Master's Degree at Full Sail University, Orlando, USA. My passion? well, judge by the title of this blog, PROMOTING. Why? It's what makes me feel alive. For two years I worked back home with the two major promoters of the capital city: Solid Show and Evenpro and got to do SO MUCH and experienced the live event promotion industry face to face. Among the stuff I did was coordinating absolutely everything requested by the artist according to their technical riders, such as: catering, mobiles, security, transport, dressing rooms, hotel requirements, meet and greets, and any any other thing for the artist or band and for the rest of the crew. And all this was done communicating with the manager or booking agency of the artists so I was the one in charge of establishing the communication between them and the promoter. I also got to be the designated tour manager for some like: 50 Cent and Kiss. Among the artists I worked with are some International thus: Mark Anthony, Jonas Brothers, Simple Plan, Kiss, Guns N' Roses, Ricardo Arjona, 50 Cent, Olga TaƱon, Ruben Blades, and some local like Chino y Nacho and Franco de Vita.
Before that I was a Corporate Events Coordinator which was basically producing events for corporate clients like banks, insurance companies, clinics, etc. And a little before this I worked as a magazine editor at Complot Magazine where I was in charge of writing several sections as well as different articles that varied according each month's topic, one in which I interviewed well-known American photographer, Timothy Archibald for the release of one of his ground-braking project of 2005 "Sex Machines: Photographs and Interviews". That's it for now, most of the material you will find has to do with the program assignments so don't be confused if some posts are not related entirely to promoting.
Enjoy :)
